ChamTha Kyaw is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Pandita. He has been involved in activities that aim to strengthen civil society and promote youth to engage in governance and participate in political and decision-making processes. He also worked to mobilize young people around the country as an advocate for youth issues to the local and international community. Since then he has been involved in activities that promote citizens' participation in public affairs and the development of democratic principles at local and national level in Myanmar. He has overseen the implemented more than 25 projects in partnership with 18 organizations. He holds a degree from the Mandalay University (B.A. in History). He was one of the youngest political prisoners.
Zay Yah Oo
Zay Yah Oo is the Program Manager at Pandita. Before working with Pandita, he has worked as an Executive Director of BAYDA Institute for 3 years. The BAYDA Institute works to strengthen the civic participation in democratic transition and has wide experience of working with activists and party members who are now serving as legislators. He has also organized capacity building training for National League for Democracy (NLD) electoral candidates and has given lectures in many events. He has also worked as a working team leader of NLD central research committee until the 2015 election. Before working in the political party and civil society sector, he worked as a translation editor in international news journals and was in charge of translation team in the private sector. He holds a degree from the Yangon University (B.A.). He is one of the candidate of Fulbright Program and OSF Civil Society Leadership Award (CSLA). He is also a former political prisoner.
Sandary Aye Naing
Finance & Administration Manager
Sandary Aye Naing is the Finance & Administration Manager at Pandita. She has nearly total 6 years finance professional in both business sector and non-profit sector. She holds a Diploma from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Diploma in Accounting). She is currently a student of MBA program at the University of the People. She had previously completed the InsideNGO training session on USAID Rules & Regulations: Grants & Cooperative Agreements. She holds degrees from the University of Foreign Languages (Diploma in English).
Editor of Civics Now
Aye Khaing is the Editor of Civics Now at Pandita. He is also a freelance writer cum translator, and a researcher. Before working with Pandita, he worked as an editor in Sabei Phyu Magazine, Nweni Magazine and Messenger Weekly News Journal during 2009-2011. In 2012, he actively took part in the monitoring process of by-election, in cooperation with the 88 Generations Peace and Open Society. He was also a founding member of the Open Myanmar Initiative (OMI), a leading parliamentary monitoring organization in Myanmar and subsequently worked as OMI’s Research Director till 2015. He has conducted quantitative research on parliamentary performance of the Union-level legislature in Myanmar during 2010-2014, which was published as reports from OMI. He also wrote a book, “Basic Concepts in Parliamentary Studies”, which was published in 2014. His writings include essays and articles on education, politics, international affairs, social issues, and literature.
