Democracy will not thrive if the populace is not familiar with the knowledge, practice and values of democracy. It is of vital importance for people in all walks of life to have access to information and education about democracy. As part of our contribution to the development of civic capacity in our country, we created to Civics Now Facebook page in early 2017.
Civic Now aims to provide simple and informative content about democracy and its political process for people at large through online media. We target people in Myanmar age between 16 and 45 who use the internet to access civic education materials through the planned online portal and Civics Now Facebook page.
Our editorial philosophy can be described concisely as follows: we provide content about democracy for laypeople rather than highly academic and scholarly writings. As an impartial and reliable source, Civics Now is a one-stop shop for understanding democracy and civics.
I am proud of being Burmese but it's embarrassing whenever I see some Burmese's manners in the public. I believe this page will help our Citizens in different ways.

Thanks for presenting contents on democracy and its concepts and principles, on political thoughts and ideas clearly and simply. I see this page as a good page for studying concepts in politics and democracy. Always enjoy reading.
November 2017 Progress
During 2017, we posted content about civics and democracy attracting more than 200k+ followers with 50 posts to our page during 2017 (the facts and figures about it can be seen in the info graphic opposite).
We are very encouraged to see this progress which supports one of our strategic objectives of contributing to the development of civic capacity. In the long term, this activity will lead to the achievement of our vision: to strengthen civic participation towards a peaceful, harmonious, and democratic society in Myanmar.
